Anodized Aluminum Voice Coil Former
Rockford Fosgate subwoofers use anodized aluminum voice coil formers that provide superior heat dissipation (up to 100° at full power levels). Unlike traditional plastic substitutions, aluminum acts like a heat-sink to quickly dissipate thermal build-up on the voice coil. This keeps subwoofers cool during high SPL conditions.
CEA-2031
Power handling on Rockford Fosgate speakers conform to CEA-2031 industry standards. This means your speaker has the capacity to handle power under continuous damand, not instantaneous power handling, that over time, can damage voice coils.
Flex Fit Basket
The Flex Fit frame utilizes slots (where feasible) instead of single screw sized holes. This allows slight adjustment of the speaker when mounted.
Stitched Tinsel Leads
Multipoint "periodic" stitched lead wire technique reduces the mass of each tinsel lead and spreads stress and strain over a greater area, significantly improving the reliability and performance of the subwoofer.
These stitched tinsel leads withstand extreme duty cycles, fatigue and high current that is critical to robust design.
"VAST" Surround
The Vertical Attach Surround Technique significantly increases a speaker's effective radiating cone area without complicated installation issues. The result provides up to 25% more effective radiating cone area for the same model speaker.

powered by Infinity 611a amp. 650watt rms at 2 ohm. This sub hits hard. I am glad i got this for $150. It is loud and clear. I have a amp remote to control the gain level. I an turn it down when it is too hard or have passenger in my car. Only minor issue is the trim ring won't fix in on my pre build QLogicbox. The sub with the trim ring is 13.31 inch diameter. My QLogic box was just quarter inch short. The sub's overall diameter is 13.07inch, and it is a snuggle fit in my Qlogic box. I am sure i can modify the box's trim to make the ring fit. And i striped the Socket head driver bit. I used my own Hex key to install those screws.
I would definitely recommend this sub.

Rockford Fosgate makes some GREAT equipment at extremely affordable prices. This subwoofer is no exception. I have this hooked up to a Rockford Fosgate Prime R500-1 500-Watt Mono Amplifier and it's like the perfect combo. The sub is housed in a ported enclosure at around 1.63 cubic feet (1.79 is what they recommend)and tuned to around 39Hz. It's a dual 4-ohm sub, so each voice coil can be wired to each other in parallel creating a 2-ohm load to present to the amp.
The construction on this sub is excellent. The frame is an extremely sturdy die-case aluminum frame, and the cone is made from anodized aluminum, not paper. Overall construction on it is just excellent. For a sub in this price range, it blows away the competition.
There are 10 gauge wire terminals on each voice coil and I would recommend using 12 or 10 gauge wire for this sub. I used some quality 12 gauge wire to help minimize power loss. I had to re-wire the terminals on the box I used because it looked like some cheap 16 gauge wire, so make sure that you have quality wire running all the way from you amp outputs DIRECTLY into the sub with no cheap stuff in the middle.
This sub handles any type of music with ease. Produces great sounding bass at any volume and every frequency. Rockford Fosgate really has one of the nicest sounding and best constructed subs in this price range. Definitely a life long customer to RF.

This is my first sub. Installed it myself using and audiopile apsm1300. running and 2 ohms 600rms. I let a guy who used to do this kind of stuff look at it and he was impressed. This thing hits. Im not a bass head and just wanted some resonance in my speaker system. This sub does that and more. Turn it up and BOOM BOOM BOOM!!!
